Jessica Biel Briefly Comments On WONDER WOMAN

Originally up for Wonder Woman back in 2007 when Justice League: Mortal was still in development, Biel decided to pass on the role. What does she think about Wonder Woman today?

Biel was in discussion for the role of Wonder Woman back in 2007, when Warner Bros. was still attempting to bring Justice League: Mortal to the big screen. Biel passed on the project for undisclosed reasons. In 2009, Biel stated that "if Wonder Woman had the right script and it was really powerful and emotional and interesting, I would be into that kind of thing.” So how does she feel about the role in 2012?

Question: You’re no stranger to action films do you see yourself as an action star?
Jessica Biel: No I don’t see myself as an action start because I do so many things. If I did only action movies and that’s all I was known for then I would feel more appropriate to say it. I just feel it’s one aspect of this business that I love. I feel lucky that I can tap into it occasionally. It’s a genre that I enjoy doing, it’s fun.

Question: Would you ever consider playing a female super hero?
Jessica Biel: That would be great, where are they, where is that one, they’re really hard to find.

Question:What about Wonder Woman?
Jessica Biel: I think Wonder Woman is a tough one, I think people have had a really hard time adapting it.

Question: Is there a character in the back of your head you wouldn’t mind playing?
Jessica Biel: No because I really don’t know much about comic books. I know the classic characters but I think the female characters you are talking about are probably a little bit more obscure.

Maybe we'll see Wonder Woman on the big screen someday. Currently Man of Steel is the only DC adaption on Warner Bros.' film slate and while there are numerous rumors and other projects in development, it's anyone's guess as to when or if we'll see a wider variety of DC superheroes on the big screen.

Jessica Biel shouldn't be asking for it to be "emotional" or "powerful" as these elements way require acting thus eliminating herself from the role.

I get that most of the Actors and Actresses spent their whole lives trying to get There, but I much rather prefer someone who spent most of their lives wishing and trying to portray a character or write/direct one, you know, someone who loves or has read the material or at least has a understanding.

Question:What about Wonder Woman?
Jessica Biel: I think Wonder Woman is a tough one, I think people have had a really hard time adapting it.

Question: Is there a character in the back of your head you wouldn’t mind playing?

This, this just doesn't make me feel good about her, let's say, if she were to play Wonder Woman with that mind-set, I wouldn't necessarily be exuberant about as opposed to chick who would be thrilled as all hell to put on a blue with white stars thong and guantlets with a headband to match. For God sakes, Hugh Jackman pulled a April Fools on her and told her (Collins) she had to put on a silver lycra body suit 2 sizes to small and she did it, cause she felt personally obliged to Origins (And that was terrible, just imagine what she'd do for JLA...) and stepped outside her trailer for all the crew to stare at her butt and breasts over flowing, and well, dammit to hell if that's not dedication.

But then again, I spent most of my High School Life chasing the latest issue of Jim Lee's X-Men rather than the short, well built kinky redheaded cheerleader so...

If Wonder Woman is going to be filmed in the next 2-3 years then please cast Lynn Collins but Biel is sexy despite her terrible choice of marrying Timber-douche.

@Angelus Thanks! Even if could act don't quite think she looks right for the role.

If she is cast might as well to Justin Timberlake to play Zeus.

Pretty good actress..really! She gets a very hard time from people who have probably only seen her is shitty rom-coms or the like. But I dunno about WW..definitely suits her physically. Collins might be a better choice alright.

@TheGambitFreak, Lynn Collins is too short and too old to be Wonder Woman. If you haven't noticed the last two women that were picked for that role (Megan Gale and Adrianne Paliki) were over 5'10" (Collins is only 5'8). Anyway, I seriously doubt that they will ever make a Wonder Woman movie this decade since it would never garner a large enough audience to watch it. The character is better off ensembled with the Justice League.

TheGambitFreak
TheGambitFreak - 8/2/2012, 5:23 AM
@dnno1

Collins is only 35, Henry Cavill is 29, and Christian Bale is 38... Not to mention meanwhile on Marvel, RDJ is 47, and Scarlett Johansson is 27.

Age doesn't matter, that is, if DC gets their shit together and actually does something.

And Height? Really? Wonder Woman wears heels, that's a very minor detail, after all Chris Evans is 6'0" and Hemsworth is 6' 4", you really think little Downey Jr. could walk around those dudes on Avengers...

Hehe, little short RDJ...

Daaaamn... Lyn Collins would be mint. Personally, I'm torn over whether WW should get a solo movie before JLA, or be introduced in a small cameo role in someone else's moviefirst, like Black Widow in IM2... Then again, I'm probably the only one who thinks an Aquaman solo film set almost entirely underwater would be awesome, so what do I know...?

hahahaha! "powerful and emotional" two words that does not exist in her career. Good god how can this woman be so retarded. So she hates comic genre because she starred in a bad one but she was all set to play catwoman? And total recall is failing and soon she will be ready to in almost anything. I hate when these emotionless super models become more choosy then maryl streep. Just be glad that people are still offering you work.

Gina Carano is my pick. She's experienced with MMA and can actually act. Not to mention that she's smoking hot. Just what Wonder Woman needs.

I like Jessica Biel, but I have to admit she doesn't sound interested in being WW. I think Gina Carano or Bridget Regan or Lynn Collins would be great choices. A WW movie should concentrate on a lot of the mythology the character is based on, before throwing her in man's world.

I'd much rather Lynn Collins or my personal choice Lucy Lawless. Lucy's training and time as Xena makes her perfect to be Wonder Woman.

Gina Carano was voiced over in her last movie. Great shape, but Lynn Collins was PERFECT for WW if you saw John Carter.

sure her breasts arent as big, but when they're pushed up in the costunme: she would be fine. It would be armored like anyways so it would look thicker without her in it!

If she is iffy on a WW movie in the first place, don't ask her. Especially b/c DC needs someone to commit. She sounds like a [foo foo] anyway.

As an actor/actress, you really want to be careful about what roles you go for because it could make or break your career. Its not about being the best actor/actress but being the best person for that part.

If she stepped into the WW shoes and bombed, she would be doing a disservice to herself, the comic book, fans and the general audience if someone else is supposed to play that part that would've been better.

As an actress she knows what she is looking for and how big these shoes are to fill and the perception of the character to do good from fans and the audience.

It is hard to see a solo female superhero film turn out great. Electra is a good example of this. She doesn't really want to do the role anyway so don't push it WB.
Fxrank
Fxrank - 8/2/2012, 8:34 AM
Physically she would be perfect because she's super fit and would have no problem getting in shape for the role, her acting isn't all that bad, with good direction she could pull it off. Look at Keanu Reeves, he's a horrible actor, but his personality was perfect for The Matrix.
blueorangeny
blueorangeny - 8/2/2012, 8:34 AM
@ Thedarkkinigh1939 - WW is on a different level than Electra, Electra correct me if I'm wrong but isn't A level character like WW. WW imo is key character to DC building a solid cinematic universe. If WW is great it will bring a lot of female fans, none comic book female fans or fans. It will be a great marketing character for DC/WB since girls don't really have a female super hero lead character.

Keep this bitch away from Amazon Princess. This will be tough, imo....it will need to be taken by a none famous new actress...basically a hidden gem of a female.
